# Double Diamond

A design framework describing divergent and convergent exploration of both problems and possible solutions.

 Framework · Technology and product

## Core concepts
Discover: investigate affected people and problem situations
Define: use research evidence to set the scope of the problem
Develop and deliver: explore alternatives and refine them through testing

## Application
Use it when requirements arrive as proposed solutions, to re-examine the underlying problem and compare alternatives.

## Limitations and jurisdiction
It is not a timetable in which each stage is completed only once. New evidence may require revisiting the problem definition and alternatives.

## Editorial perspectives
Broaden exploration: investigate overlooked users and causes.
Focus convergence: quickly test solutions to an established problem.
